it’s ok i disliked the film too
Thank goodness it wasn’t just me.
I am just getting super-duper tired of all-white high school movies.
Word. I’m also getting really tired of PoCs in the background, always being the sidekicks, or being the first to die, especially in horror movies. We’ve had 20+ years of those tropes, I’d like to see something different now. Especially from a movie that’s touted to be feminist, clever, and funny, none of which applied here, in my opinion.
I always thought Juno sounded boring, and nothing I’ve seen since has disabused me of the notion. I didn’t know Jennifer’s Body was Diablo Cody! …Don’t think I’ll be watching it, either.
There were parts of Juno that were sweet and touching, but overall, I came away from the movie feeling manipulated and irritated by how quirky everything was. I felt the same way about Jennifer’s Body, only with a lot more side-eyeing over the casual racism and sidelining of characters of color. Plus, I generally find Cody’s dialogue terrible and forced, full of awkward slang and genuinely clunky rhythms, and none of that appeals to me.
Oh my God, this EXISTS?! Are they available in the US?
I DO NOT KNOW. My mom found them at T&T in Toronto, so if you have that chain, or a similar grocery place, you might find it. T&T is also where we get our shrimp chips, which is absolutely divine.
I hope you can find them. They are seriously delicious.
God, that’s awful. I’m so sorry! :hugs: Do you have the time to get a hot pad, or a hot, wet compress on it?
Thank you for reminding me! I have an electric pad at home. That might actually help. <3
